New York City has designated Fifth Avenue from 82nd Street to 105th Street “Museum Mile.” Home to various museums ranging from modern to contemporary art, it is hard not to find a museum to love.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Neue Galerie New York
- 1048 Fifth Avenue (86th St)
- Museum for German and Austrian Art
- Open 7 days a week
- Price: $20 General Admission
- Senior Admission $10; Student/Educator $10
- Free admission offered First Friday of every month
- Children under 12 are not admitted and children aged 12-16 must be accompanied by an adult
- Fun fact: Edvard Munch’s masterpiece, The Scream, is on display till June 13th, 2016
Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum

- Every Saturday, from 5:45–7:45 pm, visitors can pay what they wish for admission. Suggested admission is $10 and the last ticket is issued at 7:15 pm. A line forms at 5:15 pm.
- Fun fact: There was a 16-year delay while making Frank Lloyd Wright’s architectural creation, due to rising costs of materials after World War I, changes to the design, and acquisition of additional property. In 2008, the Guggenheim Museum was designated a National Historic Landmark.
Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum
- 2 East 91st Street (off 5th Ave)
- Devoted to historical and contemporary design
- Open 7 days a week
- Price: Differs online and at door
- Online: Adults $16; Seniors $10; Students $7; 18 and under free
- At door: Adults $18; Seniors $12; Students $9; 18 and under free
- Saturdays from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm are pay what you wish admission.
- Fun fact: The Arthur Ross Terrace and Garden is open to the public free of charge and features access to the cafe, seating, a dining area, and a contemporary display of seasonal plantings.
El Museo Del Barrio
- 1230 Fifth Avenue (104th St)
- New York’s leading Latino cultural institution
- Open every day except Monday
- Price: Suggested admission
- $9 Adults; $5 Students and Seniors; Free for Members and children under 12; Free for Seniors on Wednesdays; Free every third Saturday of the month for Super Sábado
- Fun fact: El Museum Del Barrio specializes in Latin American and Caribbean art, with an emphasis on works from Puerto Rico and the Puerto Rican community in New York City.

- Fun fact: With your admission to the City Museum, you can gain free entrance to El Museo Del Barrio, located just 1 block north.
